International Initiatives

The links below connect you to sites which offer information about what clinical trials are, how they are conducted, and listings of clinical trials open to brain tumour patients. Since we do not maintain these sites, we are not responsible for the accuracy or content of the sites.

US national Institutes of Health

World Health Organization International clinical trials registry platform.
Includes Australian trials.

What Are Clinical Trials All About?
This National Cancer Institute site offers an explanation of clinical trials, how they are conducted, what to look for in a trial, and information about informed consent.

PDQ Clinical Trials Search
PDQ is a database compiled by the National Cancer Institute. It contains several files, one of which is a list of clinical trials. That database includes over 100 brain tumour trials which can be searched by tumour type, treatment type, sponsor type, patient age, or geographic region. Both US and international trials are listed.

List of Clinical Trials & Noteworthy Treatments
Maintained by Al Musella, DPM, this site offers a database of both clinical trials and new, conventional treatments for brain tumour patients. The database can be searched by treatment category, by state, or by tumour type.

CenterWatch - Clinical Trials Listing Service
These trials are posted by physicians conducting research at major medical centres and private research centres. Patients can use this site to learn about investigational therapies and identify ongoing clinical research trials. The information is provided by a publishing company covering clinical research as an information source to patients.

Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers Of America
PhRMA represents approximately 100 US companies involved in pharmaceutical research. Site includes industry information as well lists of members' new drugs in development.

Veritas Medicine
The Veritas Medicine website clinical trials database allows patients to be matched to clinical trials based on information submitted confidentially. The clinical trial matching tool is supplemented with original information about current and investigational treatments developed by physicians.
